Often called just Rosybill’s these Pochard’s are highly recommended for the beginner. Native to South America they do not require a permit to keep. They are also winter hardy, a dry shelter with open water is required. Rosybill’s are quite calm and do well in a mixed collection as long as ample space is provided. Nesting takes place on the ground, in cover or in a ground box.
