Baikal Teal Order Now for Fall 2024
The most beautiful of all the Teal, easily my favorite dabbling duck. Similar in disposition to the Green Wing Teal, there have been reports of hybrids between these two species. Here at Penners and Feathers we keep them in sperate enclosures to ensure pure breeding. They are compatible with other species, but care must be given not keep with more aggressive species. They will breed and color within their first year.
As of 2021 season these no longer require a permit to keep in Canada.
Very easy to keep as with most Teal. Many American breeders report they can be finicky nesters. Here at Penners and Feathers we find them to be free breeding, with several pair double clutching last season! This is possible due to the excellent stock we purchased, from European bloodlines.
