Hooded Merganser are the least expensive of the Sea Ducks. They require swimming water at all times of the year, along with a high protein feed. Nesting in raised nest boxes, they are some the first eggs produced in spring.
Native to North America they require a permit to keep within Canada. There display is one of the most impressive of the waterfowl family. Like other mergansers Hoodies acquire there adult plumage in there second year.
